Shut Up and Play!!!

with one comment

I read an article over at ESPN this morning, titled “‘Freedom of speech’ not guaranteed in NFL”. Where Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen stated the following…

“There comes a point where we have to be able to play this game. I know it’s for our safety and that’s [commissioner Roger Goodell's] job. I don’t want to be in that position to make those calls either. But football is a violent game. Things are going to happen. Tempers are going to flare. People are going to disagree with the ref’s call. They’re going to say something. At some point where do you cross the line in taking away our God-given right to express our feelings and our emotions? The last time I checked we live in America and have freedom of speech. But not in the NFL.”

I have this to say in response. Trade jobs with me, along with the paycheck, you whiny smartassed brat. Cry me a freaking river over your “cruel and unusual punishment.” Yes, I live in America. Yes, I agree with my superiors at one point or another. Yes, I have the “God-given right” to express my feelings and my emotions.

But I keep my louth shut, or I use the proper channels to voice my concerns, not out on the work floor. You know why? Because my emploter has the “God-given” right to fire my ass, that’s why. I make decent money for an American, and I can not afford to lose it because of a big mouth.

You, Jared Allen, do not have a case of “cruel and unusual punishment” being thown down on you. you have a case of not being able to keep your mouth shut.

You make sick money, man. Play and enjoy your game, take your check to the bank, and shut the hell up!!!

Larry Johnson? Apologize?

without comments

Dude, sounds like you back is against the wall. Four accused assualts in five years against women? Wow!  Yeah, you got issues. And you have a long tough road to clean up, especially after that typical “I am sorry to everyone but the people I assualted” crap apology.

I am going to compare you to Delonte West, guard for the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers.
Yeah, I don’t know you, and I don’t know Delonte, so that evens it up. shut up and listen already.

On October 17, 2008 Delonte West told reporters that he is getting treatment for depression and a “mood disorder,” and he thought about quitting the team recently. West said he is taking medication and taking part in therapy sessions. West said Friday that he removed himself from the team to “get my thoughts back together.” He is taking medication for his illness and has been attending therapy sessions. West said he was troubled by his behavior during a scrimmage earlier this month. He took out his frustrations on a high school referee at the Cavs’ training complex.
What have you done Larry? You came out with some bullshit “kind of disgusted with myself” apology.

You both have issues that need to be dealt with. so far, only one of you two are manning up.

Good luck to you, Larry…but I ain’t holding my breath.

3 Reasons Why MNF Sucks To Watch

with 6 comments

Mike Tirico
Tony Kornheiser
Ron Jaworski

These guys downright suck as a commentating team. I can handle them for the first quarter, mainly because my two little ones are still awake and are making enough noise to drown them out. But by the time it the second quarter, they are fast asleep in bed, so I am stuck obtaining a three quarter headache from this crew.

Tony, you need to stick to PTI, where your unsoothing voice fits right in with the program itself.

Ron, you need to stick to studio work. You can break down X’s and O’s with the best of them. I always came away learning something from you after you disected game film. but in the booth, you are about as pleasant to listen as Joan Rivers jacked up on greenies.

And Mike, dude…you just need to crawl back to whatever hole you came from.
Look, MNF has been trying to mix football with entertainment in the booth for years!!!  they almost had it right a few years ago. since I am a typical all-American guy with a a continuious thirst for football AND entertainment, my thought on this should be the law.

The following should be in the MNF booth, starting this coming week. Pay them whatever they wish.

Lisa Guerrero
Bonnie Bernstein
Dennis Miller

Here are my reasons…

Bonnie Bernstein…what’s better than a good looking woman? A good looking woman that knows her sports.

Lisa Guerrero…same as above, plus no one would mind her “personality-driven and feature-driven” aspect of the players.

Dennis Miller…Dude is hilarious. I do not care if half the veiwing audience can not keep up with his dialogue, they can go ahead and turn up their 8-track players blaring Merle Harggard for all I care.

My choices cover it…Looks, knowledge, and laughter.

Oh! I almost forgot about sideline reporter…I pick Jillian Reynolds, for two reasons. One, she is pretty, and two…nobody would mind being asked stupid dumbass questions from her that is required to be asked by a sideline reporter.

Who would you choose for your crew in the MNF booth?

Yo, Cleveland Fans…Shut up already!

with 5 comments

So LeBron James’ loyalties “irk”Cleveland fans.

That’s the story all over the news after Lebron was seen hanging out on the Dallas Cowboys sideline before last Sunday’s home opener for the Cleveland Browns, while sporting a Yankees cap that I have seen him wear all the time.

Cleveland, you have bigger problems with sports than worrying about LeBron’s likes outside of basketball.  You should be more “irked” over how the Browns played against the Cowboys.  I was born and raised in Texas. I was a Cowboys fan out of the womb, and I even felt sorry for the Browns getting their butts spanked 38-3.

Face it, you will lose LeBron to free agency when his contract is up. And you deserve to. Well, not so much the fans, but the front office deserves to. Forget about the fact the the NBA front office wants King in a bigger market, but the Caveliars front office does not know their head from their butt when it comes to building a team around this guy. I won’t bring up the names of all those  “wonderfull building pieces” that your front office signed over the years, because I am not one to make a fan cry over something so obvious.

So back to your “irk” over LeBron’s loyalties. He really does not owe you a thing. He’s from Akron. He’s a lifelong Yankees fan. He’s a lifelong Cowboys fan (what did you expect, for him to don a vintage Brian Sipe jersey, while snacking on  a scooby snack?).

He is also a family man and business man. Yes, that’s right, a business man…who takes cares of who is important, which is himself and family. He doesn’t owe you fans a thing.

My advice is to enjoy him while you can, because in two years you’ll be able to seen him only a few times a season when he comes to town on the visitors plane…and don’t think that means in the playoffs either.
