Great Baseball Names…Stubby Clapp

Growing up as a kid, like other baseball fans, I collected baseball cards. Every now and then, you will come across a guy with a name that sticks in your head for the rest of your life. I will be adding to this every so often. Please let me know if you have any names that you would like to have added. First one is Stubby Clapp, who spent most of his career in the Cardinals system, who came up for a couple of cups of coffee. He finished his career with the Blue Jays organization is currently the 2nd basemen for the Canadien National Team. He even had his number retired for the Cardinals Triple-a team, if I remember correctly.

  1. I guess I can mention Rusty Kuntz here of Detroit Tigers fame.

I was actually scared of the ’79 – ’80 Pittsburgh Pirates as a child. Sanguillen, Parker, Moreno, Madlock – even Candaleria, Biby, and Tekulve – they all looked like real life criminals or….well, pirates!
