After Saturday night’s game where Hiroki Kuroda took a line drive off his right ear from a 90+ mph fastball, he spent the night in the hospital and was released the following morning. Word id that Kuroda attended Sunday’s game and sat in the visitors clubhouse to watch. He was cleared to fly home with the team, but was diagnosed with a concussion and will have neurological tests on Tuesday. Don’t be surprised if Kuroda misses some time.
David Wright also was hit in the head Saturday by a 93 mph fastball from Matt Cain…
…Wright took the pitch right in his left ear. He was down for several minutes and was able to walk off on his own power, but he also spent the night in the hospital and had tests done. The New York Mets are also missing their top players in Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes due to injury, but word was this morning that the Mets are taking no chances with their marquee player in Wright by placing him on the 15 day DL.
Best wishes go out to these two for speedy returns to the diamond.
